Come spend three days learning five Swedish Art Weave techniques: Halvkrabba, Rolakan tapestry, Dukagang, Monksbelt, and Krabba.
Students will weave a sampler of the five techniques in class and then will design and begin to weave one of several projects which will be finished after the workshop. Two examples of projects are the bags shown above. Instructions for weaving and finishing the project of their choice will be given in the workshop.
Students will prewarp their looms with linen warps prepared for them, using specific warping instructions for linen from Joanne (detailed instructions are found in her book “Learning to Warp your Loom” available for purchase from A Place to Weave). Please note: a 4-shaft loom at least 15” weaving width with the loom depth at least 24 inches from the breast beam to the back beam is required. Looms are available for use, if needed.
The wefts for the sampler and the project are Swedish wools.
Both warp and weft yarns for the sampler and the project are provided and included in the price.
