Fun with Weaving!

For Scouts or School Groups or a Group of Friends!

In this 8-hour session over two days, youth will weave a project on a Schacht Cricket Rigid Heddle Loom.  Scheduling the session as three 3-hour days is also an option.  Beth can tailor the session to the group’s needs.

Each youth will have the option of weaving a scarf or felted wool mug rugs or a felted wool purse.

Minimum workshop size: 4; Maximum workshop size: 8

​

Minimum grade level: 4th grade

​

Cost: $65 per person if pay by credit card.  $55.00 per person if pay by check/cash.   Includes materials except handle for the purse.  If choose to weave purse, youth will need to provide their own handle; Beth will provide size information.

Day 1:

• Choose yarn and colors.

• Design a striped warp.

• Warp the rigid heddle loom.

• May begin weaving.

​

Day 2:

• Weave scarf or mug rugs or purse.

• Remove from loom.

• Hem scarf.

Go home with washing instructions and cutting instructions for mug rugs.   Purses will be finished by Beth and picked up later.
