This 3-day class will focus on doubleweave techniques and color patterns that can be woven on a 4-shaft loom. Tubes, double-width fabrics and 2-layer designs will no longer be a mystery! Participants will warp a 4-shaft loom and weave a doubleweave sampler project worthy of being hung on a wall and used for storage of shuttles and other weaving equipment.
Prerequisite: Students must be able to warp a loom on their own and must arrive at the class with a pre-wound warp. Specifications for the warp will be provided upon registration.
Students may use their own 3/2 cotton yarn or use yarn from the studio ($30 materials fee). Looms are provided, if needed, for students purchasing yarn from the studio; if using own yarn there will be a $10.00 loom rental fee for a studio loom for the workshop.
